Bushcraft
Every summer NMC holds a range of outdoor activities as part of Bushcraft season. Think outdoor cooking, orienteering, fire-making, and wildlife exploring. It's a great opportunity to build relationships, learn new skills and enjoy adventures in the great outdoors. More recently, Bushcraft has soared to new heights by joining forces with Cheshire Falconry. We've had gorgeous owls visit the centre and the group were also able to visit Blakemere Village to help train birds of prey. Not an opportunity to be missed in the future. Get in touch with us to find out more.
Photography
Fascinated by the world of photography? Want to learn how to capture high quality photos and practice using different equipment? This one-day workshop will allow you to explore life through a lens. We also have an annual photography competition which is open to everyone.
Pottery
Participants are invited to try something different and have a go at bringing their imagination to life with clay. The one day workshop is delivered by Howard Owen. No experience required and no matter your ability, we can help you to create something of your choosing. If you want to have a bit of fun whilst socialising and clay-modelling, then this is the perfect workshop for you.
Blogging
Delivered by an incredibly influential young person who has featured on BBC Newsbeat, the one-day Blogging workshop provides you with an insight into how to express yourself from a unique perspective whilst recognising the power words can have on an audience.
Gaming
Do you love playing video games? Fancy competing against other people? Keep an eye out for our next gaming competition at NMC. Mario Kart and FIFA have featured so far but all game recommendations are welcome.
Afican Drumming
Our African drumming workshops are run by Live!Cheshire. Those attending the workshop are shown a rhythm and tempo by the instructor which they are then required to repeat, as the tempo is changed and different rhythms used together, creating an amazing sound that can be heard around the centre. Those who have attended this workshop reported they enjoyed the opportunity to play music and the experience of playing a drum, describing the workshop as fun, therapeutic and a good work out too.
pebble painting
Our pebble painting workshop is run by Tracey Anne Pilato who also attends the centre for physio. Pebble painting is a creative activity which can help with anxiety. The pebbles make lovely gifts and those attending this workshop have reported they enjoyed the social aspect and the opportunity to de-stress.
cOOKING
Cooking workshops are run at the centre as part of our life skills training. Past workshops have included how to make soup, lasagne and curry with the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and eat the food.
cARD mAKING
Card making workshops are run by Martyn Blenkharn who also attends the centre for physio. Martyn demonstrates a number of styles of card making and many of his cards are sold in the centre.
